Upsides: The campground is very well maintained, and it's very nice. The people were nice, and there are a ton of amenities. Downsides: As others have stated, the sites are rather narrow - we felt like we were right next to the campers next to us, and we just have a small B-van. The fire ring was uncomfortably close to the next camper after they pulled in. Also, the prices were kind of high, but I guess that's because of the area and all of the amenities. Note they charge a "pet fee" of $1.50/day, although they waived it when they heard we had a cat, not a dog. Another gripe was that they ask you to wear those annoying wrist bands similar to what you get in hospitals and the like - I understand WHY they do it (security), but at the same time ... they couldn't find a better way? At least find some wrist bands that have snaps on them so you can remove them at night? But, even with these gripes, we'll definitely go back there again.

My family has a long history with Ramblin' Pines - my parents used to camp there, years ago, and now that I have a camper I've visited a couple times myself. In general it's a pretty decent park, but I find public address announcements extremely annoying - "Attention campers! The snack bar is now open!", and the like. We heard a couple of those throughout the weekend. Also, the shower was a mess one day (probably some kids, overnight - I was willing to overlook that problem), but then the next day the shower was clean but the water wasn't draining from the shower so you ended up standing in several inches of water. Again, that wouldn't bother me so much (I'm sure these things happen everywhere from time to time), but another camper told me that he'd reported the problem several days before, and obviously, it wasn't fixed yet.

Good campground, not great. As others have stated some sites are close together, but on the other hand the campground is clean and well-kept. The paved roads are nice and in good condition. The Wi-Fi only works near the office; it isn't park-wide. One tip to RVers going to or coming from this campground: avoid the nearby Borelli Rd at all costs - it's extremely rough.

Decent campground in a good location. It's right next to I-283 so there is some traffic noise, but it's not bad. I doubt that I'd go to Harrisburg East for a weekend to relax and actually camp; both times I've stayed here I've used the camper more as a place to sleep while visiting family in the area. Showers are pay showers, $0.25 for about 10 minutes, very clean and plenty of hot water, but there's no curtain in front of the changing area - it's just open to the rest of the bathroom. Still, the next time we're doing something in this area for a weekend, we'll almost certainly come here - the location is hard to beat, and the price is reasonable.

I've been to Lake Haven Retreat twice, and I've been pretty happy both times. The recent restroom/shower renovation has made it even better. The roads are somewhat rough - gravel, but there are large potholes - and the bathroom is a rather long way from the sites. But I would recommend it for someone staying in the Indianapolis area.
